Planet Green and ABC News have joined forces
There’s a new program on Planet Green called Focus Earth. It airs every
Saturday at 6PM ET (5 CT). Focus Earth is an eco-newscast hosted by Bob
Woodruff
, produced by ABC News and supported by it’s vast team of reporters
around the world.

You might remember Bob Woodruff, he was the co-anchor of ABC’s “World News
Tonight” for only a month when he received a devastating head injury from
a roadside bomb that struck his vehicle and badly injured his cameraman while
reporting from Iraq. Just thirteen months later he was back on the air with
a documentary about his traumatic brain injury (TBI), the painstaking recovery,
and the plight of thousands of service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan
with similar injuries. Bob and his wife Lee co-wrote a best seller called “In an
Instant,” chronicling his injuries in Iraq and how their family persevered through
a time of intense trauma and uncertainty. His cameraman is doing very well.

Each week, Focus Earth covers a variety of subjects ranging from climate impact,
environmental policy, political debate and world events. The series includes
studio-based round table discussions, feature stories, and lively debates, making
it ‘the one-stop destination for a deeper perspective on the environment’.

Here is a couple of topics Focus Earth has reported on.

Called the ‘Dirty Olympics’ or the ‘Pollution Olympics’, it is now ironic how
China had won the bid to host the 2008 games by promising to put on a what they
called a Green Olympics, implementing clean energy and efficiency, and make the
world proud.

The vanishing American prairie, the vast grasslands that spans from Canada to
Texas, mostly lost to development and agriculture. It is one of the most
endangered ecosystems on Earth, according to the World Wildlife Fund. In fact,
only 2 percent of prairie remains untouched.

You really need to check out Focus Earth, they pack alot of news and information
into a 30 minute program.
