I have been reading the Obama Health Care Plan.It seems all good, just like his call for change. But give it a long hard thought. Just like most inner city middle class of my generation, we had a welfare provided “Medical Card” until I was 18. I haven’t had adequate health coverage for most of my adult life – leading me to be mindful of my fragile human shell and taking better care of myself through exercise and a better diet. When I did have a full health plan, I worked so much that I didn’t make time to go see the doctor. This all leads to my question: do we need a health care provider or do we need to be more responsible for ourselves and live healthier? Lowering health care costs is just a step. We have to remember that our drug companies are “corporations” and that their number one rule is, “There is NO PROFIT in THE CURE only THE TREATMENT.” I don’t know about you, but I would rather focus on wellness and have the cure, if necessary. These are the things that I would like from my health care provider, Mr. Obama.
