
WASHINGTON AP – President Obama’s only public appearance today is a speech on behalf of historically black colleges. Behind closed doors, he and aides will also be discussing the way forward after yesterday’s health care summit,
President Barack Obama plans to highlight the role historically black colleges have played in America’s educational system.
Obama will speak about that role and sign an executive order for the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the East Room on Friday afternoon.
The event is designed to demonstrate the administration’s commitment to assisting historically black colleges accomplish their educational mission.
